4 Cocktails with the Least Amount of Alcohol

People love to enjoy a perfectly good mix of margarita or Manhattan, but things get blurry after a few rounds. Drinking all day without getting too intoxicated is possible with low proof cocktails (cocktails with the least amount of alcohol in its mix).

Here are a few low proof cocktails that provide plenty of flavor without too much punch:

Strawberry-rose spritzer
This fruity drink is as delicious as it looks.
Ingredients:

  • 1 pint of strawberries
  • 750ml of bottled rose wine
  • 2 cups of soda water
  • ⅓ cup of Aperol
  • 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice.

Preparation:

  • Make sure the strawberries are hulled and sliced beforehand.
  • Combine the wine and strawberries in a pitcher and cover it.
  • Let it chill for about 3 hours to infuse wine.
  • Strain the wine into a large bowl or vessel and save the strawberries for later.
  • Add soda water, Aperol, and lemon juice to the wine and stir well.
  • Divide and pour the mixture into glasses filled with ice.
  • Garnish the drinks with a lemon and the reserved strawberries.

  • 1½ ounces of Aperol

Preparation

  • Stir the mixture until the exterior of the shaker is frosty. This will take about half a minute.
  • Strain the mix into a tall glass filled with ice and top it off with club soda.
  • You can garnish this drink with an orange twist.

Raspberry and Aperol floats
This drink is a sweet low proof cocktail that can be enjoyed at any time of the day.

Ingredients:

  • 1 sprig thyme
  • ¼ a cup of sugar
  • ¼ a cup of Aperol (you can alter the quantity of this ingredient according to your liking)
  • 1⅓ cups of raspberries (amounts to 6 ounces)
  • 1 pint of vanilla ice cream
  • 2 cans of club soda (12 ounces each)

Preparation:

  • Take a small saucepan and boil ¼ a cup of water in it.
  • Add thyme and sugar while the water is boiling and stir well to dissolve the sugar.
  • Once the sugar is dissolved, remove the pan from heat, cover, and let sit for about 15 minutes.
  • Remove the thyme sprig and let the syrup cool down
  • Add the Aperol and stir it in.
  • Divide the syrup and the raspberries accordingly and muddle gently.
  • After dividing equally, add ice cream and top off with some club soda.

Ingredients:

  • Fresh mint leaves, slapped.
  • 3 ounces of dry gin
  • 1½ ounces of fresh lemon juice
  • ¾ of an ounce of simple syrup
  • Club soda
  • Lemon peel

Preparation:

  • Combine the gin, lemon juice, and syrup in a highball glass.
  • Add mint leaves and stir.
  • Fill the glass with ice and then top it off with some club soda.
  • You can use a lemon peel or lemon slices to garnish the drink.
